Henry Cheah, a MUSCC member attended the Arsenal/United match last Sunday (jealousy will get you nowhere!) and he shares with us some thoughts as well as several photos which you can view in the Photo Galleries.
I hope all is well with you and the MUSCC.
I have just come back from a week in London. I had the great fortune of attending the Arsenal v Man United match at the Emirates on Sunday in the United supporters section.
I was on a soccer tour. My brother (who supports Arsenal) and I saw three matches last week. Chelsea v Birmingham City, Fulham v Aston Villa and the match of the week Arsenal v Man United. We went to Stamford Bridge and Craven Cottage and were seated with the home fans.
When our tour director, Jon Dickinson (a United season ticket holder), handed me two away supporter's tickets for Sunday's match I was deliriously happy! I wasn't expecting away tickets. I had always believed that these fabled tickets were as rare as hen's teeth. I thought I would have to sit on my hands for the entire game in the home section. Curiously, my brother was not happy with a ticket in the United section and after some horse trading with other members of our tour group, he secured a ticket in the home section. Needless to say, I kept my 'golden' ticket.
Of course, you know the result of the game. The atmosphere in the United section was phenomenal. Apart from usual anti-Arsenal/Wenger chants, much of the singing, chanting and abuse were especially aimed at City and Carlos Tevez (that 'twat from Argentina'). There was also a lot of anti-Glazer chants and supporters wearing the green and gold of Newton Heath. My ears were ringing after the game and my voice is still hoarse. Still smiling from Sunday's result. I've attached some photos from the Emirates. Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Henry Cheah Canadian One United member |
